Steve Lopes

The Work

This painting encapsulates the essence of my life’s journey—collecting, curating, and cherishing the small, meaningful objects that tell the story of my experiences. From trinkets found on travels to cherished heirlooms, each item in my home holds a memory. This piece serves as a visual representation of that narrative, inviting visitors to embark on a journey through the curated corners and nooks of my space, each filled with stories and personal history.

Provenance

I purchased this painting from Steve Lopes’ exhibition Still and Still Moving at Mitchell Fine Art Gallery in Brisbane. Subsequently, the gallery requested to loan the piece for inclusion in his survey exhibition Encountered, which was presented at the S.H. Ervin Gallery in Sydney and the Orange Regional Gallery in New South Wales.
